Finding Your Spiritual Teacher
In this video Jennifer talks about how to pick a spiritual teacher guide or guru or someone that you want to work with. First of all you want to always go with your gut and check in for its feeling of energy and see if there is some kind of compatibility, trust and an energy exchange. Teachers do not want students who don’t listen to them and don’t want to take the advice or do the homework. It becomes a little futile after a while if you are asking or answering the same question over and over again. Good teachers or guides will actually fire clients for their own good knowing their highest good is their own as well.
More Than Book Learning:
It must be a teacher/ guide/ guru who doesn’t want or need you in the sense that they are not creating a following. It is not for you to be someone’s fan or part of their following. You want someone to share wisdom teachings or experience with you that will help you with your own journey. Beware McSpiritual teachers that have taken course online in this or that modality. With the online world there are quite a few academies popping up helping people get trained but many are not building a practice and experience. They may have the text book knowledge but their lived experience from hours of practical sessions and case studies are not happening. I suggest people go to people with experience. If you want to go with someone new you need to assess the love of their humility, their graciousness and their desire to be of service. Find people that have a lived experience of something especially the thing that you’re looking for.
Jennifer for example does not teach on a lot of topics because those are still her work-in-progress areas. For example she will not be talking about physical health even if she knows it’s the five pointed star as in it’s your physical left leg or financial as your right leg. Knowing that the 5 pointed star concept of man is sort of the human becoming godlike, and her own week spots are physical and financial you would not want to pick her as your “expert” guide to grow in those areas. She would bring in someone that has achieved that kind of success. In your finding the teacher for you, you want someone to demonstrate that they’ve lived not learnt only. Go here to work with Jennifer Clark.
Learning and living go hand-in-hand especially with energy medicine, spirituality and psychic stuff. a lot of people are waking up quickly which is amazing but they don’t know how to hold space they don’t know how to nest and communicate their messages with integrity, grounding and without ego. Sometimes the big life experiences is what pushes the teacher into being more authentic and real making them the better teacher. Learning through the pain pushes all of us into evolution. That is the kind of teacher to seek out for you in the areas you are seeking growth in. Knowing that not all teachers are the right fit for you. A good teacher will serve you and will also be evolving themselves through their service. They will not be confined to a one way dogma.
Working with a teacher as a student, you want a teacher that is strong and open enough they can take compassionate criticism feedback as well even if they do not agree necessarily.
Warning 101:
Be aware that you want someone involved typically ahead of you on some sort of platform but it’s a ladder and we’re all helping each other. At some point they may get stuck (in their own human journey) and you can pull them up as well through giving feedback. With all the noise and opinions flying around in the public especially for those standing up in their own power like a teacher, know that they also need to have a thick skin and be open to the message as a message of growth. (if that is what it is). When they are not, you may want to reconsider your choice. We are all seeking authenticity from our leaders. Being a good leader, engaged with their own evolution, owning it is the lesson for the students as well.
Jen’s two rules as a spiritual teacher are:
- Be willing to let the student grow
- Be willing to let the student go
Her life goal is to help build society that is grounded and well. Until then she will continue to help people get going up the ladder of their evolution to the next stage so we can all play nicely with each other. When you find your teacher pay attention to their desire to help you go up rather than staying where you are in a certain vibration.
A good teacher will actually make you the teacher, where you evolve past them. Ego and fear will keep you stunted so you will know it is not the best place for you to be staying. Pay attention for the time you will be ready to walk away and do so with gratitude for the lessons (good and bad).
Use some of the rules I touched here and pay attention to your gut and you will find what it is you need when you are looking for a spiritual mentor or teacher. With the online world today and Youtube, you can always try people out first. Be aware that everyone is human and while they may be evolved in some areas they are not in others. Be prepared to walk away. Doing that may be the lesson you were meant to learn at that point. Love and value yourself first and foremost.
Commit To Being A Good Student:
Basically if you are going to be a good student, the homework the solutions the remedies have to be done on a daily basis. You need to actually commit to healing those wounded archetypes from your childhood pain and your unresolved issues or you may be one of the many who will have a mental breakdown as the frequency of the planet changes.
Commit and start today and do that homework, follow those remedies that have already been given to you. Done one small one day to day and build up a solid foundation to ground yourself in and make it a habit that is connected to your essence of self, whether it’s a dietary change, a mindset change, a gratitude journal, a breathing exercise, a meditation, a seesaw map whatever it is you need to do to incorporate it into your life.
Build up your reservoirs because it’s cumulative. Nobody’s remedy is done once and then that’s it. Healing is a lifelong pursuit of happiness it is done every day so you have to have a practice on some level to keep yourself aligned and balanced these days. Figure out something that you can do whether it’s on the bus, in the car and the washroom breaks. I teach people how to do five-minute moments in washrooms and private times or at lunch times. There are many things you can do differently to help your energy just sort of balance and get grounded.
